The OPP-led Provincial Joint Forces Cannabis Enforcement Team began investigating an online operation called 420 Highway in July 2026. Police said it supplied and distributed cannabis from multiple Windsor locations without authorization from Ontario’s Alcohol and Gaming Commission or Health Canada.[1][2]

On 2 September, officers executed three search warrants at two residences and a storage facility. They seized dried cannabis, concentrates, hash, edibles and vape products, along with packaging equipment, contraband tobacco and C$24,000.[1][2][3] The total estimated value of the seized property, products and equipment exceeded C$365,000; Windsor News Today reported the total as C$366,000.[1][2][3]

Three men from Windsor, aged 41, 42 and 57, and a 28-year-old man from Sarnia were charged with cannabis-related offences and possession of proceeds of crime.[1][2] The four were released and were due to appear in a Windsor court in late November.[1][2] The charges had not been proven in court.[2]
