Police officers seized marijuana from a previously convicted 43-year-old resident of Ust-Kansky District.[1] According to the republican Interior Ministry, the man gathered wild-growing cannabis on the territory of the livestock farm where he was temporarily living in October of the current year.[1] He packed the collected plants into two nylon sacks and hid the sacks in an ail.[1]

Officers sent the seized substance for expert examination to determine its nature and weight.[1] Experts confirmed that the seized substance was marijuana with a total dried weight of 3.3 kilograms.[1] The republican Interior Ministry described the seizure as more than 3 kilograms of marijuana.[1]

The villager admitted that he had prepared the intoxicating plants for his own personal consumption.[1] Police opened a criminal case under Part 2 of Article 228 of the Russian Criminal Code.[1] The cited provision covers illegal acquisition and storage of narcotic drugs without purpose of sale when committed on a large scale.[1]
