About 37,000 cannabis plants growing across 25 acres of forest land were destroyed in the Radhanagar forest area and at Debipur and Urangan Bari in Sepahijala district on Friday, NCB officials said.[1] The joint drive brought together the NCB, the CRPF, the BSF, Tripura Police, the Forest Department and Tripura State Rifles.[1]
An official said the operation reflected the whole-of-government approach of the Vision Document on Narcotics Control for 2026-29, which aims to eliminate illicit cannabis and poppy cultivation in identified areas by December 2027 through coordinated agency action.[1] The reports name no arrests.[1]
