Lapland District Court sentenced a man to five months of suspended imprisonment for growing cannabis in Tervola and failing to report two deactivated rifles.[1] He admitted the offences and agreed to have the case decided in written proceedings.[1]
The drug offence ran from 14 October 2025 to 8 March 2026.[1] The prosecutor said the man grew at least two cannabis plants to sell or otherwise distribute the cannabis.[1] Police seized 276 grams of cannabis flowers and shake grown from those plants.[1]
The man also sold at least 20 grams of cannabis to unidentified people at ten euros per gram, for a reported total of 200 euros in criminal proceeds.[1] The court ordered the proceeds forfeited to the state and set a 120-euro victim surcharge.[1]
The separate firearms offence occurred on 6 March 2026.[1] The man had two deactivated military rifles but had failed to notify police of acquiring them within the required 30 days.[1] Tilannemedia clarified that the charge concerned the missing notification, not the mere possession of deactivated rifles.[1] The court said it considered the amount and type of cannabis and the intent to distribute it for financial gain.[1]
