Man arrested with 10 kg of cannabis at Sunamganj–Sylhet highway checkpoint

Officers of SRB-9 arrested Mosabbir Hossain, alias Suman Mia, 26, at Madanpur in
Lakshmanshri union on 28 October 2026.[1] Acting on a tip-off, the unit
learned that traffickers were travelling by bus from Dabar Point in Shantiganj
toward Sunamganj town.[1] Officers set up a checkpoint on the Sunamganj–Sylhet
highway at about 3:10 pm.[1] SRB-9 said Mosabbir got off the bus and tried to
run when it was searched; officers caught him and found 10 kg of cannabis in his
black shoulder bag, wrapped in blue polythene and khaki tape.[1]
In preliminary questioning he said he had collected the cannabis in border areas
of Sunamganj and kept it for sale.[1]
