York County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Gerald S. Baugh III of Stromsburg on Oct. 15 during a traffic stop.[1] He was lodged on charges of possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person, possession of a deadly weapon while committing a felony, possession of a controlled substance, theft by receiving stolen property, possession of a legend drug, possession of marijuana less than 1 oz and possession of drug paraphernalia.[1]

The traffic stop occurred around 11 p.m. on Highway 81.[1] A sergeant with the K-9 unit deployed police service dog Justice during the stop, and Justice indicated an odor of illegal narcotics.[1] Deputies then conducted a probable cause search and found a deadly weapon, methamphetamine, marijuana, legend drugs and drug paraphernalia.[1] Deputies also found a package belonging to someone other than the driver.[1] Investigation determined the package contained multiple pill bottles holding a total of 390 prescription pills.[1]

The published account gives no separate cannabis weight beyond charging the marijuana allegation as possession of less than one ounce.[1]
