Mossos d’Esquadra officers searched a detached house in Sant Just Desvern, in the Baix Llobregat, on 20 October 2026 and seized 715 cannabis plants about a metre and a half tall and in an advanced stage of flowering, grown in three separate spaces in the basement.[1][2]
Upstairs they found two large rooms fitted with a sophisticated electrical system and numerous heating mats for drying buds, and they also took 2,800 euros in cash, an electric pistol and large precision scales.[1][2] The house had a fraudulent connection to the electricity grid that carried a serious risk of fire; workers removed the installation and restored a safe supply once the court diligences were finished.[1][2]
Two people in the house were arrested on suspicion of a crime against public health, and a 92-year-old woman who lived there and is related to them was identified.[1][2] Both arrestees were brought before the duty court at Esplugues de Llobregat; one arrest was then lifted so that person could care for the elderly woman.[1][2]
The search was authorised by court no. 3 of Esplugues de Llobregat and grew out of a local police intervention near the house months earlier; the Mossos investigation unit at Esplugues ran the case with support from security officers and the ARRO operational resources group.[1][2]
