The Provincial Court of Las Palmas is preparing for a trial against four men accused of using a purported cannabis club in units 23, 24 and 25 of the Cita Shopping Centre, in the tourist area of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, for the systematic distribution of narcotics to third parties.[1]

The Public Prosecutor’s Office filed its indictment seeking multi-year prison terms on charges of crimes against public health and illicit association.[1] A National Police investigation documented at least a dozen transactions involving cannabis and hashish resin between January 2023 and November 2024 inside the establishment, which operated as the Be Happy club presided over by one of the defendants, an Italian national; individual sales ranged from 1.4 grams to portions of almost ten grams.[1]

With sales evidence established, Investigating Court No. 2 of San Bartolomé de Tirajana authorised entering and searching the premises in early 2025, seizing more than a kilo of cannabis in various forms — over 958 grams of dried buds, nearly 236 grams of hashish resin, 250 grams of extracts and tinctures in branded bottles, joints and 352 euros in small-denomination cash, worth close to 10,030 euros on the illicit market; the case now goes to trial.[1]
