Royal Gendarmerie units in Safi province acted on the night of Monday 13 to Tuesday 14 October 2026
near Ayer-Bdouza beach, where they stopped a pickup truck loaded with cannabis resin.[1][2] A
security source told Le360 the load weighed about one tonne and that equipment found with it was
suspected of being used for international trafficking by sea along the Atlantic coast.[1]
On the prosecutor’s instructions the vehicle was taken to a gendarmerie post for weighing and
documentation before handover to customs, and the truck was impounded.[1] Investigators identified
several suspected participants and issued nationwide arrest notices while inquiries continued.[1]
The Arabic-language report put the total resin seized at about one tonne and described the same pickup
interception and judicial weighing process.[2]
