The RCMP’s Eastern Alberta District Rural Crime Reduction Unit executed a search warrant at a residence on Saddle Lake Cree Nation on 21 October 2026 and arrested four residents.[1] During the search, officers seized a prohibited firearm, numerous rounds of ammunition and a magazine, more than $2,000 in Canadian currency, and various amounts of cocaine, crack cocaine, methamphetamine and illicit cannabis.[1] Police said they also seized what they described as multiple forms of evidence consistent with trafficking controlled substances.[1]

All four accused, aged 28, 27, 26 and 57, were charged with two counts each of possession for the purpose of trafficking and with possession of cannabis for the purpose of distributing.[1] The 28-year-old also faces four firearm counts and a charge of possession of property obtained by crime, and the 27-year-old charges of possessing ammunition contrary to an order and two counts of failing to comply with a release order; for the 26-year-old and the 57-year-old the release lists only the drug counts.[1] Their names were not released.[1]

The search involved the Alberta RCMP Emergency Response Team, St. Paul and Lloydminster police dog services, St. Paul RCMP, the Cold Lake RCMP crime reduction unit and the Eastern Alberta District integrated offender management team.[1] All four were brought before a justice of the peace and remanded into custody, with their next appearance set for the Alberta Court of Justice in St. Paul on 29 October 2026.[1]
