Detective Branch police and Rajpara and Kashiadanga thana police, thana being the local term for a police-station jurisdiction, carried out separate anti-drug drives in Rajshahi city on Monday 2 November 2026.[1] Rajpara police arrested 36-year-old Rumman Ali and 45-year-old Khondakar Shakil Hossain Palash at the Dashpukur Bypass area at about 6 pm that day.[1] Officers seized 195 grams of ganja, the local term for cannabis, from the two men.[1] Police said Rumman already faced one drug case and Palash faced seven drug cases.[1] Metropolitan police spokesperson Deputy Police Commissioner (Sadar) Md. Gaziur Rahman confirmed the account on Tuesday afternoon.[1]

Police described the ganja seizure as part of a set of drives that together held four people with heroin, tapentadol tablets and ganja.[1] Police also said they seized drug-sale cash and three mobile phones during the drives.[1] In a separate heroin action the same evening, Kashiadanga police arrested 32-year-old Robiul Islam Minal with 300 grams of heroin and three mobile phones at Kashiadanga crossing.[1] Cases were filed against those arrested under the Narcotics Control Act at the concerned stations, and they were sent to jail through the court on Tuesday morning.[1]
