Attorney General Dave Sunday said a long joint investigation found that two Fuel On gas station and convenience stores in Cameron and Elk counties had been selling marijuana or THC products over the counter that were either pure marijuana or above legal THC limits.[1][2]

Syed, 45, who owns both Fuel On sites, faces felony corrupt organisation, possession with intent to deliver and dealing in proceeds of illegal activity charges.[1][2] Employees Pillay, 33, and Afzal, 64, face the same charges over the Ridgway store in Elk County.[1][2]

All three surrendered for arraignment on the morning of Friday 30 October.[1][2] Bail was set at USD 100,000 unsecured for Syed and USD 50,000 unsecured each for Pillay and Afzal.[1][2]

Investigators seized product from the stores and more than USD 10,000 in cash.[1][2] Sunday said residents had treated the shops as a community problem and that packaging designed to attract children had been sold daily from the storefronts.[1][2] The North Central Drug Task Force, Emporium and Ridgway borough police, Pennsylvania State Police and the Cameron and Elk county district attorneys assisted; those offices will prosecute the cases.[1]
