Carabinieri of the Bitti company, with the helicopter squadron Cacciatori di Sardegna, found a field hidden in thick vegetation near Onanì, in Nuoro province.[1][2] ANSA says it held more than 1,900 plants of cannabis indica, ready for harvest.[1] La Nuova Sardegna puts the count at about 1,900, in an advanced stage of ripening.[2]

Two men were caught tending the crop and arrested in the act.[1][2] A judge confirmed the arrests and ordered a third man, described as their accomplice, to remain in the town where he lives.[1][2] The plants were sampled for a laboratory test of their THC and then pulled up to be destroyed.[1] La Nuova Sardegna says an irrigation system was dismantled and seized with the tools used to tend the plants.[2]

The same accounts describe a separate find of about 1,000 plants at Lula.[1][2] That operation is not this one.[2]
