The Guardia di Finanza seized about a tonne of cannabis in a warehouse in Petritoli, in the province of Fermo, the force said on 15 October 2026.[1][2] Officers found thousands of plants hanging to dry, containers of buds and leaves, grinding and separating machines, a forced ventilation and humidification system, and a scale.[2]
The cannabis came from a large plantation found earlier on land in a neighbouring municipality that was available to an agricultural company.[1][2] Seven people were working in the warehouse, including the company’s legal representative; one worker was undeclared.[2]
The company’s administrator could not show where the finished and semi-finished products were going, and the agricultural entrepreneur was reported to the Procura of Fermo under the hemp law.[2] The reports did not mention any arrests.[1][2]
