Nigeria’s National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) said on 11 October 2026 that its officers, working with the Nigeria Customs Service, had arrested a South African woman at Port Harcourt International Airport with 32.74 kg of cannabis.[1][2]

The woman, named by the agency as Gebashe Sithandiwe Jessie, arrived on Qatar Airways flight QR1431 from Thailand via Doha with 30 parcels of Thai Loud, a cannabis strain, concealed in two travelling bags, the agency said.[1][2] P.M. News reported that she is 30 years old.[2] The agency said she confessed to having trafficked drugs through other African countries and was trying to extend her route to Port Harcourt when she was arrested.[1][2]

The NDLEA did not say on what date she was arrested or whether she had appeared in court.[1]
