Three people were arrested after anti-narcotics officers raided a residential house in Nairobi’s Jericho Estate.[1][2][3] The National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (NACADA) raided a two-bedroom house in Buruburu Sub-County on Friday afternoon after an intelligence tip-off.[4]
Officers seized 936 brown rolls of suspected cannabis, described as bhang, and found another 66 red rolls hidden in a black polythene bag, bringing the total to 1,002.[4][2][3][5] Officers also recovered a bunch of keys from a store within the house as part of the investigation.[4][2][3] The three occupants were taken to Jogoo Road Police Station.[4][2][3] They were expected to be arraigned in court on Monday, 2 November 2026.[4][1][2]
NACADA chief executive Anthony Omerikwa said the operation was part of efforts to dismantle drug-distribution networks in residential neighbourhoods.[4] Omerikwa credited residents with providing information that helped officers locate the suspected distribution point.[1] Omerikwa said NACADA was working with the National Police Service to pursue other people connected to the supply chain.[4][3] NACADA urged members of the public with information on drug trafficking to report it at the nearest police station.[4][1]
