Judicial police in Souk El Arbaa du Gharb and Nador ran two separate anti-narcotics operations on the evening of Wednesday into the early hours of Thursday June 10 and 11.[1]

The first, in the rural Selouane zone outside Nador, immobilised a utility vehicle with falsified plates carrying 40 bales of cannabis resin weighing 1,280 kg in total; the driver fled.[1]

The second, coordinated with DGST services at the entrance to Souk El Arbaa du Gharb, caught a 31-year-old man red-handed holding and trafficking 590 kg of resin in a likewise fake-plated van.[1] Checking his identity against the national security database showed he was nationally wanted by the Tangier judicial police over alleged financial offences.[1]

The suspect was placed in custody under the competent prosecutor’s inquiry to clarify the cases and identify possible accomplices.[1]
