Officers of the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) of Brisée-Verdière carried
out a combing operation on wasteland at Saint-Julien on Monday 2 November 2026
after receiving intelligence information.[1] The team was directed by Sergeant
Badorally during the intelligence-led sweep of the disused ground.[1] After
discovering cannabis plants there, the investigators placed the site under
surveillance in the hope of intercepting a possible suspect.[1] No one came to
the site while officers were watching it, so no suspect was intercepted.[1]
The sweep found 77 cannabis plants growing on the wasteland at Saint-Julien.[1] The plants measured between 17 and 37 centimetres in height.[1] Police
estimated the value of the 77 plants at Rs 375,000.[1] With no one having
presented themselves, officers uprooted and seized all of the plants.[1]
The inquiry was continuing afterwards in order to identify the people involved
in growing the plants.[1] No arrests had been made by the time the plants were
removed, and the grower remained unidentified.[1]
