The Terre Rouge Criminal Investigation Division and the Divisional Support Unit carried out a joint operation in a sugarcane field along the Royal Road in Crève-Cœur on Friday, 9 October 2026.[1]
Radio One’s article on 10 October described the discovery as happening the previous afternoon, consistent with Ion News’s date of Friday, 9 October.[1][2]
Ion News said officers from Montagne-Longue police acted on specific intelligence, searched the field and found a cannabis plantation.[1] They uprooted and seized 3,100 plants measuring between 10 and 56 centimetres tall.[1][2]
Both outlets reported an estimated market value of Rs 12.4 million for the plants.[1][2] Radio One said the cultivator or cultivators had not been identified when its report appeared on 10 October.[2]
Ion News said the investigation was continuing and attributed the action to the district police and support unit.[1] The reports describe an eradication in an agricultural field; they do not report a final police or court outcome.[1][2]
