On the afternoon of Tuesday 22 September 2026, police carrying out searches in Mansfeld-Südharz found an indoor cannabis plantation with about 600 plants in the Seegebiet Mansfelder Land.[1][2] Officers seized roughly 100 kg of cannabis flowers already prepared for sale and provisionally arrested four men: two Albanians aged 26 and 28, a 28-year-old North Macedonian and a 30-year-old German.[1][2]

The Halle public prosecutor’s office and the police estimated the resale value of the seized cannabis in the mid six figures and said the setup could have yielded about 100 kg of flowers every six to eight weeks.[1][2] Investigators were also examining a possible electricity-theft offence and continued dismantling the site.[1]

The same investigation included searches in Saxony and Brandenburg.[1][2] MDR reported on 24 September that arrest warrants had been issued and all four detainees were in pretrial custody, while three other suspects were still sought.[2]
