In a large-scale raid on suspicion of organised weapons and drug trafficking, police searched several premises in Dortmund and Waltrop on Tuesday 6 October 2026: four flats, a company and two snack bars.[1][2] In the Waltrop suspect’s Dortmund company, investigators found a professionally run cannabis plantation as well as several firearms, whose examination was still ongoing, plus digital data carriers.[1][2]
The operation targeted four suspects: men aged 29, 35 and 36 from Dortmund and a 43-year-old from Waltrop, described by police as Turkish or German-Turkish nationals under investigation for trading weapons, ammunition, cocaine and cannabis.[1][2] The 43-year-old was provisionally arrested and remanded in custody at the prosecutor’s request; an existing warrant was also executed against one of the Dortmund suspects, where officers found a live firearm with 52 rounds of ammunition.[1][2]
