Officers on an anti-drug mobile-court drive detained a youth with ganja in Manikganj.[1] The convicted youth is 24-year-old Sadib Ahmed Sadman.[1] He is the son of the late Ikbal Ahmed of Paschim Bandutia in Manikganj Sadar, and his mother is Ayesha Akter.[1] A mobile court convicted him for consuming drugs and for creating social disorder through that consumption.[1] The court sentenced him to three months of imprisonment without labour and fined him 100 taka.[1]
The operation took place on Wednesday 4 November 2026 in the Dakshin Seota area under Sadar police station, organised by the Manikganj district office of the Department of Narcotics Control.[1] Officers searched Sadman’s own house during the drive and recovered and seized 10 grams of ganja, the local term for cannabis.[1]
The district narcotics office presented the operation as another demonstration of the administration’s tough stance against drugs.[1] Related observers expect such operations to continue to build a drug-free society and curb the spread of drugs.[1]
