A 60-year-old man was arrested with 1.30 kg of ganja (cannabis) in Maihar and his motorcycle was seized.[1] The arrest took place in a forest beside Jhinna Road near a power house, Ramnagar police said.[2] Police identified him as Kailash Bais, also called Krishnapal, a resident of Lehechua Raghunathpur in Sidhi district’s Rampur Naikin police area.[2]

They said they received a tip on 31 October 2026 that a man with a motorcycle was waiting there to sell ganja.[2] A team led by station officer Inspector Vijay Tripathi raided the spot, and the man tried to run before officers surrounded and caught him.[2] A search of the motorcycle’s storage compartment found a packet wrapped in tape, and weighing showed 1 kg 300 g of ganja.[2] Police said the motorcycle was being used to sell the drug and seized it too.[2] Police seized ganja valued at 13,000 rupees and a motorcycle worth about 80,000 rupees.[2]

The motorcycle’s registration number is MP53 MB 4894.[2] They put the total value of the seized goods at about 93,000 rupees.[2] A case was registered against him under section 8/20(b) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, India’s main drug law.[2] He was produced in court, which sent him to jail.[2]
