Military Police arrested a man in the Santos Dumont neighbourhood in upper Maceió on the night of Tuesday 3 November 2026 on suspicion of drug trafficking.[1][2] ROTAM officers of the Alagoas Military Police went to Santos Dumont after the corporation’s intelligence sector warned that drug trafficking was occurring there and found the suspect in a car.[3] The reports do not give the man’s name.[3]

Officers found nothing irregular in the vehicle, and the man told them he kept marijuana at his residence.[1][2] With the resident’s authorisation, officers searched the home and seized about 3.5 kg of marijuana together with a precision scale.[3][2] Police described the scale as material that can be used to weigh and divide drugs.[1][2]

The man was taken for a medical evaluation and then to the Central de Flagrantes in the Tabuleiro do Martins neighbourhood.[3][2] He remained in custody after being booked for drug trafficking, with the Civil Police completing the legal measures and holding him at the judiciary’s disposal.[1]
