Police seized more than 30 kg of ganja worth around Rs 50 lakh from a man at Kaloor, Kochi, early on Thursday as part of the Operation Toofan anti-narcotics drive.[1] The arrested man is Abdul Hai Molla, 22, a native of Murshidabad district in West Bengal.[1]

According to police, Molla travelled from West Bengal to Odisha, bought the ganja cheaply, and carried it to Kerala to supply wholesale dealers, riding to Vijayawada and then taking another train to Ernakulam Junction.[1] He was caught heading toward Kaloor.[1] Investigators believe he was a key link in an Odisha-to-Kerala network, had been under surveillance, and are tracing who ordered the consignment.[1] A DANSAF team led by assistant commissioner Ananthalal made the arrest and handed him and the drug to North police station, where a case was registered.[1]
