Police found three marijuana plantations in the towns of Kapangan and Kibungan, Benguet, during eradication operations on Friday, 30 October 2026.[1] The Police Regional Office-Cordillera said the sites were in Barangay Sagubo in Kapangan and Barangay Poblacion in Kibungan, found during joint police and anti-drug operations.[1]

Officers recovered 1,000 marijuana seedlings worth P40,000 from the Kapangan plantation and 1,150 fully grown marijuana plants valued at P230,000 from two plantations in Kibungan, calculated at the standard drug price.[1] Police put the combined street value at P270,000.[1] All of the recovered plants and seedlings were uprooted and burned at the sites after documentation.[1]

The operations brought together personnel from the Kapangan and Kibungan municipal police stations, the 1st and 2nd Benguet Provincial Mobile Force Companies, Benguet provincial intelligence, community affairs, drug enforcement and special operations units, Regional Intelligence Unit 14 and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Cordillera.[1] Authorities said investigation and follow-up operations in nearby areas are continuing to find other plantations and identify those responsible for the cultivation.[1]
