West Jakarta Metro Police, led by chief Kombes Pol Nasriadi, raided Kampung Boncos in Palmerah, West Jakarta, on the afternoon of Friday 30 October 2026.[1][2][3] The operation targeted points suspected of drug dealing and use, and hundreds of officers searched houses, wooden sheds and boarding rooms along alleys about 1.5 metres wide.[4][2] Police secured three people.[4][2][3] Nasriadi told Kompas the three were caught using drugs inside the sheds, were not local residents, and came from Surabaya, Jatipi and Temanggung.[5] VOI reported that the three came from Surabaya, East Java, the Slipi Palmerah area and Aceh, and that two men found in a wooden bed on vacant land were suspected of having just used methamphetamine.[4][2]

In a boarding room of about 2 by 3 metres, still air-conditioned but empty of occupants, officers found parang and badik blades, remnants of methamphetamine and marijuana, an empty safe and paper.[1][2][3] Kompas reported that police seized packets of methamphetamine, one still-wrapped packet of cannabis, smoking tools and an empty safe.[5] Nasriadi said investigators had not yet decided whether those held were part of a network, dealers, couriers or users.[4][2]

He said the action would not stop at the raid, and that Palmerah police and the narcotics unit would keep watch so the vacant land was not used again for drug stalls.[4] He warned that anyone who rebuilt a bed there would be treated as part of the drug network and arrested.[1] He compared the handling of Kampung Boncos with Kampung Ambon in Cengkareng and said officers had found a great many bongs.[1][2]
