Police arrested 29 people in a raid on Kampung Bahari in North Jakarta on 1 November 2026.[1] Jakarta police drug squad director Kombes Bismo Teguh Prakoso said the operation involved the city police, the national police criminal investigation unit (Bareskrim), the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) and the mobile brigade (Brimob).[2] He said some of those held were alleged dealers or owners and others were users.[2] Police first reported 26 people held.[2] Bismo later put the final number at 29.[1] About 1,816 officers began sweeping the area at 5.30am.[3] They rode a commuter train from Tanjung Priok station to Kampung Bahari and neighbouring Kampung Muara Bahari.[3][4]

Officers seized cannabis, hundreds of grams of methamphetamine, thousands of ecstasy pills and a machine for pressing ecstasy tablets.[5] They also found bongs, packaging, sharp weapons and firearms.[2] Police also seized Happy Five pills and cartridges suspected of containing etomidate.[1]

Officers were pelted with stones during the raid.[2] He said drug dealing in Kampung Bahari still used stalls along the railway despite earlier raids.[2] He said police would keep raiding and hunting the suppliers.[2]

The suspects were held at the Jakarta Metro Police’s narcotics directorate, North Jakarta Metro Police chief Kombes Adhe Hariadi said.[4] Police were still questioning the 26 people detained in the raid.[6]
