On 20 June 2026 the Malësi e Madhe police commissariat finished an operation it called Flagranca in the village of Ivanaj.[1][2] The Albanian Telegraphic Agency published the police account that day from Tirana.[1] Euronews Albania published the same account the same afternoon.[2]
After proactive inquiries, officers found 306 suspected cannabis sativa plants under cultivation on a plot in Ivanaj and destroyed them by burning.[1][2] At the place where the plants were growing they caught two men in the act and arrested them.[1] They are N. Z., 40, who lives in the village of Guci e Re, and K. P., 43, who lives in the village of Grudë e Re.[1][2] Police suspect both of cultivating the plants.[1][2]
The file went to the prosecutor at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction in Shkodër for further action.[1][2] Police said checks would continue across Shkodër county, to find and stop further cultivation.[1] Neither account gives a weight, an area, or the men’s full names.[1][2]
Euronews Albania published a still with the report. It shows officers in Policia vests walking a person along a track, with a Malësi e Madhe label and a police emblem.[2] The still does not name the person.[2]
