Hyderabad’s Task Force (Charminar) and local police arrested auto driver Shaik
Asif in Bandlaguda for allegedly selling marijuana.[1] He is a 38-year-old
resident of New Indira Nagar, Bandlaguda.[2] Acting on a tip-off, officers
caught him near Bandlaguda X Roads while he was allegedly waiting for customers.[1]
Officers seized approximately 1.94 kg of ganja from him.[1] Officers also
seized one mobile phone from him.[1] Police said Asif had procured around 2 kg
of marijuana from an unidentified person in Nagpur at Rs 5,000 per kg and
planned to sell it at higher prices to customers in Ghouse Nagar and Crystal
Town Colony.[1] He had gone to Nagpur on October 28, purchased two kilograms
of ganja for Rs 10,000, and returned to Hyderabad.[2]
Police said Asif is addicted to ganja and turned to peddling because his
auto-driver income was insufficient to meet his expenses.[2] Police said
