A control judge bound three Hermosillo influencers over for trial for apología of a crime and of a vice after they shared an August Facebook video exhibiting and promoting Olympos marijuana products.[1] The accused are 20-year-old Azlán N, 29-year-old Julián N known as El Pelón Bajavión, and 22-year-old Eduardo Antonio N known as El Doble Carne.[2] The judge ordered weekly appearances before the court, an individual financial guarantee, a ban on leaving Sonora without permission, and a temporary halt to promoting the brand under investigation.[2] Azlán remains in justified preventive detention for two other criminal cases while all three face precautionary measures in this prosecution.[1]
At the initial hearing prosecutors presented more than 15 items of evidence to support the charge.[2] The case concerns a recording shared publicly on Facebook on 29 August in which the three allegedly expressed approval of cannabis-derived substances.[2] In the footage they allegedly showed and shared branded products including electronic cigarettes, concentrates, extracts and pre-rolled marijuana cigarettes.[2] Prosecutors said the on-camera display, promotion and handing over of the products amounted to public exaltation of narcotics-related conduct that could reach an indeterminate online audience.[1]
Sonora prosecutors said they will continue investigating public promotion of allegedly criminal conduct online to protect development and dignity, especially of children and adolescents.[1] In a separate case Azlán was bound over for aggravated equiparated rape and corruption of minors involving a 13-year-old in Hermosillo, with justified preventive detention.[1] In a third distinct case he was bound over for a health offence in the form of drug dealing through marijuana possession, also with justified preventive detention.[1]
