Traffic police arrested a man in flagrante at Limoncitos, Guayabetal, on the Bogotá–Villavicencio road while he was transporting 917 kilograms of creepe-type marijuana.[1] The arrest occurred during a Transit and Transport Police inspection in the sector of Limoncitos, jurisdiction of Guayabetal municipality, Cundinamarca.[2] The detainee, the pickup and the seized drug were placed at the disposal of the competent authorities for the judicial process.[1]

Officers inspecting the pickup during registration and control activities found 500 packages containing the drug.[1] Police identified the contents as creepe-type marijuana being transported by road.[2] Authorities said the load was moved under the modality known as kamikaze.[2] Police put the value of the load at more than 2,178 million pesos, describing it as an impact on criminal income.[2] Police calculated that the seizure kept more than 917,000 doses of marijuana out of the illegal market.[1]

Transit and Transport director Colonel Edwin Orlando Correa Correa said road controls are closing the way to drug-trafficking organisations and preventing the country’s road corridors from being used to move drugs and feed illicit economies.[1] The Transit and Transport directorate said it will maintain inspection and control activities on national road corridors to detect vehicles used to move drugs and to pursue the structures behind their sale.[2]
