Police found 103 kg of marijuana, in the form of 159 cannabis plants left to dry, at a private property in Grashevo, a village in Velingrad municipality, during a special operation across Pazardzhik region. No arrest at the property was reported, and the directorate named no suspect or owner.
Police found 159 cannabis plants that had been left to dry at a private property
in Grashevo, a village in Velingrad municipality, the Pazardzhik regional
Interior Ministry directorate said.[1][2][3] A field drug test identified the plants
as marijuana.[1][3] The directorate gave the 103 kg as the total weight of the
marijuana from the 159 plants.[2]
The find came during a special operation across Pazardzhik region in the 24
hours before the announcement on 31 October 2026.[1] The operation targeted
violations of voting rights, everyday crime and traffic offences.[1] Criminal,
economic, security and traffic police from Pazardzhik, Peshtera, Septemvri,
Velingrad and Panagyurishte took part, along with the regional gendarmerie unit
in Plovdiv.[1][3]
Officers checked 1,020 people, 950 cars, 25 pawnshops and fast-loan offices, and
52 people known to be active in crime.[1] No arrest at the property was
reported, and the directorate named no suspect or owner there.[2]

The reports say the operation ran in the 24 hours before publication on 31 October 2026 but give no separate date for the search at Grashevo.
The 103 kg is given as the total weight of the 159 drying plants; the reports do not separate usable marijuana from stems and leaves.
The same police statement reports two people detained during the operation for small amounts of marijuana and a synthetic cannabinoid without linking them to the Grashevo property; they are not counted in this report.
No estimated value for the marijuana and no charge or court step over the property have been reported.
Both accounts rest on the Pazardzhik regional Interior Ministry directorate's statement; no independent reporting or court record was found.
