A joint Border Police Battalion (BPFron) and Federal Police team intercepted 367.04 kg of cannabis on Monday 2 November 2026 at Profilurb II in Foz do Iguaçu after watching a boat arrive from Paraguay and moor on the Brazilian bank.[1] The officers saw the boat cross the frontier and its occupants unload bundles into a car on the Brazilian side.[1] When officers moved in to stop them, the men abandoned the load and fled into nearby woodland.[1] Searches found no suspects.[1] The official police statement confirms the patrol in Profilurb II saw a craft leave the Paraguayan bank, moor in Brazil, and have its volumes transferred to a car.[2]
Officers searching the car found bundles containing material with the characteristics of cannabis.[1] After weighing, the load totalled 367.04 kg.[1] Police seized the drug and the car and took them to the Federal Police station in Foz do Iguaçu for legal procedures and investigation.[1] BPFron put the estimated loss to traffickers at R$764,480.[1]
The action was carried out by BPFron teams with the Federal Police’s Special Maritime Police Nucleus (Nepom), which patrols drug trafficking and other frontier crime.[1] The identities of those involved and the final destination of the drug were not disclosed.[1]
