On Sunday 1 November 2026 at about 6:30 pm, Chhagalnaiya thana police and Ghopal Investigation Centre officers conducted a joint operation in Uttar Adharmanik village of Radhanagar union in Chhagalnaiya, Feni.[1] The target was the area behind the tin-shed house of expatriate Belal, next to the Dakshinpara Jame mosque.[1] Police said they acted on secret information.[1]

At the spot, officers found cannabis left abandoned in two sacks.[1] Each sack contained six packets, making 12 packets in total.[1] Police weighed each packet at 2 kg, putting the total seizure at 24 kg of ganja.[1] In the presence of mosque worshippers and nearby villagers, officers prepared a seizure list, seized the cannabis and took it into police custody.[1]

No one was arrested at the scene because the sacks were found abandoned.[1] Police said work was under way to identify those involved in storing, supplying and transporting the drugs and to arrest them through legal action.[1] Chhagalnaiya officer-in-charge Mohammad Abu Taher said anti-drug operations would continue and those involved in storing, selling and trafficking would be brought under the law, seeking local cooperation.[1]
