Special Response Battalion 9 recovered 11 kilograms of cannabis in an operation in the Ashera area of Lokra Union, Habiganj Sadar Upazila.[1] The unit is the Special Response Battalion, known as SRB-9.[1] No one could be detained over the recovery.[1]

Officers carried out the operation on Friday 30 October at about 11:30 in the morning.[1] They acted on secret information.[1] The cannabis was recovered from an abandoned black school bag on the bank of a pond.[1] Inside the bag, the cannabis was wrapped in khaki-coloured Scotch tape.[1] The bag had been left on the pond bank, and the cannabis was found inside it in that wrapping.[1]

The recovered cannabis was handed to Habiganj Sadar Model Police Station for further legal action.[1] Special Response Battalion 9 said its investigation into the incident was continuing.[1] The station was to take the next legal steps with the cannabis that SRB-9 had recovered.[1]
