Samuel Rosberg, 25, of Creighton, Nebraska, was sentenced on 29 October 2026 in federal court in Lincoln, Nebraska, by United States District Judge Susan Bazis to 248 months in prison for conspiracy to distribute controlled substances and a firearm count in furtherance of drug trafficking.[1] He will begin a five-year term of supervised release after his release from prison.[2] Co-defendant Drake Baller pleaded guilty to conspiracy and a firearm count and is scheduled for sentencing on 3 December 2026 before Bazis.[1]

Prosecutors said Rosberg and his co-defendants distributed and possessed with intent to distribute at least 71 grams of actual methamphetamine, at least one kilogram of methamphetamine mixture and at least five kilograms of cocaine, alongside multiple pounds of marijuana and THC products and psilocybin mushrooms.[2] Rosberg supplied Baller with methamphetamine, cocaine and THC products to sell, and law enforcement monitored two controlled buys from Baller in Kearney in March 2025.[2] On 3 June 2025 officers executed a search warrant at Rosberg’s home and seized more than 20 firearms, including revolvers, pistols, shotguns and rifles with accessories and ammunition.[2]

United States Attorney Lesley Woods said drug dealers too often protect their trade with illegal firearms and called the result a commendable outcome by the TRIDENT and CODE task forces in removing drugs, guns and a trafficker from the community.[2] The TRIDENT and CODE task forces cover a 22-county area in west-central and southwest Nebraska and include local police and sheriff’s offices, the Nebraska State Patrol, the FBI and Homeland Security Investigations.[2]
