Provincial prison officers intercepted a package of cannabis that had been thrown from outside into Execution Establishment No. 5 in Cipolletti during a night perimeter patrol.[1] The package was found in the outer bathroom area of Pavilion A, at cell 4.[2] Neither account names a suspect or reports an arrest in the incident.[2]

Inside the wrapper officers found a stone and several packets, including a clear packet holding a powdered-juice sachet and two other wrappers holding plant material with a strong smell.[2] The Federal Prosecutor’s Office for Initial Attention ordered the seizure and screening tests after the find.[2] A spray-reagent field test was positive for cannabis.[2] The official weighing put the seized cannabis at 3.4 grams.[2]

The account says someone approached the prison on Rimmele street and threw a small envelope containing marijuana inside, expecting it to go unnoticed except by whoever was waiting for it.[2] The discovery came during a preventive round that began at 9 p.m. covering the outer perimeter of Pavilions A, B, C and D and the pre-entry cell area.[1] Perimeter controls and preventive rounds are described as work to stop drugs and other unauthorised items entering detention units.[1]
