Sherrazade H., aged 26 and native of Bois-Bernard in Pas-de-Calais, was arrested in Cagnes-sur-Mer on 29 October.[1] The mother of three, separated from her partner, said she took the work to pay a monthly rent of 3,000 euros.[1] Tried in immediate proceedings before the Grasse judicial court, she admitted accepting drug deliveries to cover her expenses and keep her children.[1] The court sentenced her to 18 months in prison with suspended probation for two years and suspended her driving licence for six months.[1]

She herself handed to the officers the bag she was supposed to deliver to an unknown contact.[1] That bag contained half a kilo of cannabis and 22 grams of cocaine.[1] It was her third day of deliveries when she was caught without offering any resistance.[1] She was paid 300 euros per day for the deliveries in addition to her cleaning hours.[1]

The arrest followed a refusal to stop for a road check, a brief chase with municipal police and a crash that set off the airbags but left her unhurt.[1] The prosecutor noted grey areas in her account, including her presence in Cagnes while living in Ardèche and her earlier custody claim to have stolen the drugs.[1] Her lawyer stressed that she spontaneously gave the bag to the authorities and described her as a struggling mother of children aged three, five and seven.[1]
