Police in Brahmanbaria town arrested 60-year-old alleged drug dealer Delowar Hossain, known as Dilu, after recovering 16 kg of ganja held in his possession.[1][2] Officers detained him at midday on Saturday 31 October in the Uttar Mourail Pukurpar area of the district town, where he is a resident.[1][2] Members of Police Outpost No. 2 carried out the operation after receiving secret information about drug dealing in Uttar Mourail.[1] During the raid, police recovered the 16 kg of ganja from several sacks in Dilu’s custody and arrested him over that recovery.[1][2]
Sadar Model Police Station officer-in-charge Khairul Alam said drug dealing in Uttar Mourail of the town had been alleged for a long time.[1] Police described Dilu as an identified drug dealer and said five earlier drug cases had already been brought against him.[1] Police said preparation of a new case over this seizure was under way.[1][2] Police said operations to recover narcotics would continue.[1]
