Albanian police arrested three Albanian citizens near the Božaj border crossing for allegedly trying to smuggle marijuana from Albania into Montenegro.[1] The three were identified only by initials and ages as KG, aged 20, JK, aged 19, and EO, aged 22.[1] KG was driving the vehicle in which the group was travelling, while JK and EO were travelling as passengers.[1]

During a search of the vehicle, officers found 16 packages and a plastic bag inside a suitcase.[1] Police said the contents were suspected to be cannabis, with the packages and bag together totalling a suspected 17 kilograms.[1] The seized load in the vehicle therefore totalled a suspected 17 kilograms of cannabis.[1]

The stop took place near Božaj, the Albania-Montenegro border crossing named by police as the interception point.[1] The alleged direction of travel was from Albania into Montenegro by vehicle.[1] Officers linked all three occupants of the vehicle to the alleged cross-border smuggling attempt.[1]
