West Yorkshire Police attended the Park Road Tannery on Clyde Street in Bingley on Sunday after receiving community intelligence about activity at the site.[1] Two men found inside the property were arrested at the scene.[1] The two men, described by police as Albanian nationals, have since been charged with production of a controlled Class B drug.[2][3][4][5][6] They appeared at Leeds Magistrates’ Court and were remanded in custody ahead of a hearing at Leeds Crown Court in December.[2][3][4][5][6]

Officers forced entry to the disused tannery near Bradford and discovered a large-scale cannabis cultivation spread across two floors of the building.[1] A total of 650 cannabis plants were seized during the operation.[1][3][4][5] Police put the estimated street value of the 650 plants at £500,000.[2][3][4][5]

The raid followed tip-offs from members of the public who reported suspicious activity, and police thanked the public for information that led to the discovery.[2] Police confirmed that further enquiries remain ongoing.[1]
