The judicial-police brigade of Ben Arous arrested one man in the Sidi Saad area
of Mornag on Tuesday 3 November 2026.[1][2]The brigade made the arrest during a
campaign of searches carried out in Sidi Saad that day.[1][2]Police described
the arrested man as a dangerous criminal who was already being sought by
investigators.[1]He was the subject of several outstanding search warrants
for drug trafficking and for the rape of a minor.[1][2]Those warrants had been
issued at the request of the Ben Arous investigation units and the Directorate
of the Judicial Police.[1]The drug allegation was trafficking, not simple
possession, and the sexual-violence allegation concerned a minor.[1]
During the operation, officers seized a quantity of cannabis together with a
quantity of cocaine from the suspect.[1][2]The Arabic account of the same
operation calls the cannabis “zatla”, the Tunisian term for cannabis herb.[3]
After consulting the public prosecution, police kept the suspect in detention
while the case continues.[1][2]
National Guard officers in Jendouba arrested a 19-year-old sub-Saharan student with two kilogrammes of cannabis as he allegedly prepared to sell it near schools. An investigating judge at the Jendouba court ordered his detention pending further investigation.
Sousse's regional anti-drug brigade raided a house in El Aouina and detained three suspects, including a foreign national. Officers seized about half a kilogram of cannabis alongside pills, a scale and suspected cash, and prosecutors ordered the three held for investigation.
Security units in Carthage arrested eight people, including a foreign woman from a Maghreb country, after breaking up two drug-dealing networks. They seized one and a half plates of cannabis, called zatla, 25 pieces of the same drug, 5 grams of cocaine and cash they suspected was proceeds.
On Sunday 18 October 2026 national security units in Sousse city arrested a man after an ambush and seized 29 slabs of cannabis resin, called zatla. They also took the private car he used, and said the search for other suspects was continuing.
