Officers of the Research and Investigation Brigade of the National Guard in Jendouba arrested a student described as being of sub-Saharan nationality.[1] The arrested student was 19 years old and was stopped when officers sprang a prepared ambush to intercept him before any sale.[1] The ambush had been organised in advance in coordination with the Tribunal de première instance de Jendouba, the local court of first instance.[1] Officers intervened at the moment when the student was allegedly about to sell the drugs in a school environment.[1]

During the operation officers found the student in possession of two kilogrammes of cannabis and seized the drugs.[1] After the arrest the case passed to an investigating judge attached to the Jendouba Court of First Instance for further inquiry.[1] The investigating judge issued a detention warrant against the 19-year-old student and ordered his detention while the investigation continues.[1] The detention keeps the student in custody under the authority of the investigating judge.[1]
