On Tuesday 27 October 2026 Indonesia’s Aceh provincial narcotics agency (BNNP Aceh), Aceh provincial police, Brimob mobile brigade and Lhokseumawe district police destroyed about 18 hectares of cannabis in Alue Garut and Cot Mancang hamlets, Teupin Reusep village, Sawang district, North Aceh regency.[1][2][3]

ANTARA News and detikSumut reported that roughly 90 officers took part and that plants between about one and two metres tall were uprooted and burned on site.[1][2] BNNP Aceh head Dedy Tabrani said four suspected growers were handed to Lhokseumawe police for further investigation.[1][2]

Both outlets published BNNP photographs of the eradication.[1][2]

The operation ran over two days, on 27 and 28 October 2026, and targeted two sites.[4] The four detained men were identified by the initials MW, HM, SF and WD.[4][3]

Aceh police spokesman Joko Krisdiyanto said officers walked about five kilometres before reaching the plots.[3]
