Zaragoza’s Audiencia Provincial, the provincial court, sentenced Kamel Ait Aissi to four and a half years in prison for drug trafficking and acquitted the three other accused men.[1] The four had been detained in 2023 after a National Police investigation found they formed a group distributing drugs in Zaragoza obtained beforehand in Catalonia.[1] At the June 2026 trial, three of the accused denied any role in selling or distributing drugs, while K. A. A. exercised his right not to testify.[2] The hearing tried four men accused of belonging to a criminal group trafficking drugs between Catalonia and Aragón.[2]
Searches in the case recovered about three kilos of hashish, the cannabis component recorded here, along with cocaine, heroin, preparation tools, precision scales and cash.[2] Officers found more than 16,000 euros hidden in a wardrobe in one searched home.[2] Investigators also found a butane cylinder in a warehouse in Pastriz fitted with a sophisticated hidden opening mechanism in its base.[2] The cylinder was empty when seized, but investigators said it could have been used repeatedly to transport and conceal drugs.[2]
Prosecutors said the network brought cocaine, heroin and hashish from Barcelona for distribution in Zaragoza and surrounding municipalities.[2] Police said the investigation began in April 2023 and led to several entries and searches in December that year.[2] The case valuation put all the seized substances together at more than 52,000 euros on the illicit market, so no cannabis-only value is recorded.[2]
