The Waynesville Police Department in western North Carolina warned parents after officers seized THC products during an investigation that resulted in an arrest.[1] Police said the items had been sold or provided to middle school and high school-aged children in the community.[1]

In a social media post, the department said more than $56,000 worth of products were confiscated.[1] According to police, many of the products contained marijuana or THC extracts and were packaged in ways designed to attract young people.[1]

The department shared photos of the seized items and encouraged parents to familiarize themselves with the appearance of THC products that children may encounter.[1] In the post, the department warned, “Just because it looks harmless doesn’t mean it is.”[1] Police did not identify the person who was arrested or provide additional details about the investigation, and it was also unclear when the seizure took place or what charges may have been filed.[1] The outlet said it had reached out to the Waynesville Police Department for more information and would update the story as details became available.[1]
