The Marine Police arrested 31-year-old Vincent Lotsu for alleged unlawful cultivation and possession of suspected cannabis in the Volta Region.[1][2]

The arrest followed a routine patrol along the Volta Lake on Tuesday 13 October, when officers of the Kpando-based Marine Police unit discovered a fenced wooden structure at Mangoase in the Central Tongu District; a search uncovered a plantation of suspected Indian hemp behind the fence and 16 sacks of dried leaves believed to be cannabis in Lotsu’s possession.[1][2]

Police handed the suspect and exhibits to the Kpando Police Divisional Investigation Department, and sent the suspected narcotics to the crime laboratory for examination.[1][2] Lotsu remained in custody assisting investigations, with arraignment before court planned, according to Volta North PRO Inspector Felix Kwao.[1][2]
