Kensington Police charged a man after an incident at an electoral office in Victoria Park on 21 October 2026.[1] About 1.15pm police received a report of a man causing a disturbance at the electoral office on Albany Highway.[1] Police say the man made verbal threats while possessing improvised nunchucks, then was arrested nearby in Bentley with no one injured.[1] The accused is a 56-year-old Bentley man charged with being armed in a way that may cause fear, making an unlawful threat and possessing cannabis.[1]
Police refused his bail and said he was due before Perth Magistrates Court on 22 October 2026.[1] The office was Western Australia local government minister Hannah Beazley’s electorate office in Victoria Park, where the man allegedly brandished nunchucks.[2] Office staff reported that he carried a homemade martial-arts implement and threatened them, and police later arrested him nearby and charged weapon, threat and cannabis counts.[2] The ABC account likewise says the Bentley man was charged with making unlawful threats, being armed in a way that may cause fear and possessing cannabis.[3]
Beazley was not in the office at the time, said staff were shaken, said the man had sought to see her and said his motive was unclear.[2]
