Valence municipal police intercepted a drone in the Fontbarlettes district
during the night of 3 to 4 November 2026.[1]Video operators spotted the woman
preparing the drone for takeoff near rue Gounod before officers moved in and
detained her.[2]The woman, described as homeless, was arrested at the scene.[1]She was described as being in an irregular situation and was placed in
custody at the Valence police station.[1]She was then handed over to national
police officers.[2]
Officers found a bundle on a cord attached to the drone holding two mobile
phones, 150 grams of cannabis resin and 15 grams of herbal cannabis.[1]The
City of Valence gave the same inventory for the sock attached to the drone,
listing two mobile phones, 150 grams of cannabis resin and 15 grams of herbal
cannabis.[2]The device was apparently about to take off for Valence prison
with phones and drugs.[1]The drone was described as clearly intended for
delivery inside the Valence penitentiary centre.[2]
The operation followed three other drone interceptions in the previous month by
the municipal police, all said to be bound for the Valence penitentiary centre.[1]The woman had already been arrested for similar acts in September and was
again placed in custody.[2]
No name or age for the arrested woman was published, beyond describing her as homeless and in an irregular situation.
No charges or court outcome were reported; custody at the Valence station was the latest step known.
No valuation for the seized cannabis was published.
Details and the outcome of the reported similar arrest in September were not given.
The three other drone interceptions in the previous month are separate events left out of this report.
The main page photo shows the Valence prison building and other page images lack captions establishing them as this interception, so no media entry is included.
